Type I30-AG — Interrupted Gold Oxide
Interrupted thread taper pipe taps reduce friction, increase chip capacity, and enhance coolant flow.
Gold Oxide — low temperature stress relief that enhances lubricity, reduces friction and increases tap toughness.
Recommeded for a wide variety of materials including soft ductile materials that produce long stringy chips
Type I30-AGN — Interrupted Titanium Nitride
Interrupted thread taper pipe taps reduce friction, increase chip capacity, and enhance coolant flow.
Titanium nitride — increases wear resistance by producing a higher surface hardness and exceptional lubricity resulting in longer tool life.
Recommeded for a wide variety of materials including soft ductile materials that produce long stringy chips.
Interrupted Tapered Pipe Tap
Reduce flank friction, permit better lubrication and allow more room for chip removal. The taper on NPT threads allows them to form a seal when torqued as the flanks of the threads compress against each other, as opposed to Parallel/Straight thread fittings or compression fittings in which the threads merely hold the pieces together and do not provide the seal.
Shops might use Interrupted Tapered Pipe taps in high-hardness materials and where reduced cutting torque is required.
